Born into a house of educators and future educators, Eileen has been nurturing two great passions since elementary school: education and design. At age nine, Eileen was home sick from school, stuck in bed with some blank paper and a pencil. She drew out plans for a boarding school, complete with dorms, detention (a gorgeous rooftop spot to reset), and a ballroom.
Eileen has been researching education and designing classes and classrooms ever since. Her formal teaching journey began as a Montessori camp director and continued as a middle school art teacher. She went on to teach dance, peer helpers, math, history, and English at middle schools in NC and in NYC as part of the Teaching Fellows program. In graduate school, she taught 2D Design and assisted Senior Seminar at NC State University.
When her four-year-old couldn’t wait any longer to read, she started teaching her, too. As a homeschool mom, Eileen has taught everything (or at least it seems that way) to (almost) all ages. It’s been an amazing journey.
