Meet Mike, Eileen, and KKP

In 2020, after fifteen years of marriage and twelve years of homeschooling, Eileen Chevalier and Mike Roy took a leap of faith and  started Knight King Press (KKP). Mike’s first book, Sin is Dead came out in 2020. Their daughter’s debut novel was released in October 2022. More titles are in-progress.

KKP’s educational imprint  is DoDo Studio. Eileen first created DoDo Studio as Docet Docent in 2016, putting out the Aalphabet along with math posters and manipulatives. DoDo Studio is currently offering the Botany Curriculum, and we hope to offer the updated math manipulatives soon. Join our mailing list to stay informed.

When we’re not creating new products, we’re learning our kids, traveling as much as possible, reading books as a family, and seeking deeper truths.

Eileen Chevalier, Master of Art & Design, NCSU

Born into a house of educators and future educators, Eileen has been nurturing two great passions since elementary school: education and design. At age nine, Eileen was home sick from school, stuck in bed with some blank paper and a pencil. She drew out plans for a boarding school, complete with dorms, detention (a gorgeous rooftop spot to reset), and a ballroom.

Eileen has been researching education and designing classes and classrooms ever since. Her formal teaching journey began as a Montessori camp director and continued as a middle school art teacher. She went on to teach dance, peer helpers, math, history, and English at middle schools in NC and in NYC as part of the Teaching Fellows program. In graduate school, she taught 2D Design and assisted Senior Seminar at NC State University.

When her four-year-old couldn’t wait any longer to read, she started teaching her, too. As a homeschool mom, Eileen has taught everything (or at least it seems that way) to (almost) all ages. It’s been an amazing journey.
